I've had a 51 Epiphone Zephyr Regent since the 90s. Absolutely love the guitar. It was all original when I got it and the tuners are in great condition cosmetically, which isn't always the case. For years now I've considered replacing them. Not because they don't hold tune. But because it can be a little time-consuming to get it in tune. You know the drill. Tune a string up from below pitch, get close and it jumps sharp. Drop it below pitch and repeat. Anyway, I'll never sell this guitar but I'd still like to replace them with tuners that look right. I once talked it over with my luthier and everything he was showing me just looked way too modern. Like putting a racing wing on a model T. I'm considering something like Grover Imperials but I thought, what the heck, see what others might recommend.
