I have been searching for a Dumble style amp that could get me that really elusive Robben Ford Mystic Mile era tone. For me, The TwoRock sig can get me there. This amp has blown me away with its feel, clean, and overdriven tones. Here are some examples with different settings. The second clip I did a quick take of Fords "politican", which tonally, has been a thorn in a lot of Dumble Lovers sides to try and get. I think this is as close as possible without the double micing, and his guitars and lexicon etc etc. Anyway, I hop you guys dig it! This was SOO much fun to do! :)

Really cool Dumble "Straining, tubey" sound.

I have to say that I honestly don't think it "nailed" the Politician tone, but it's close. But that's just me. It sounds good though.
    I liked the playing . . . :dude

sounds good but doesn't nail the robben thing yet. Your guitar is really flat to pitch though...

P.S. I told you that amp was great and you doubted me when I first raved about it...

Jack did you have a Sig? I played a pre sig Custom reverb, and did not care for it. Others had said they could barely tell a difference between the regular and sig, and some even preferred the reular one. This is like a totally different amp to my ear.

Hmmmm...used a tuner before politician, but I should have tuned to the backing. The other tracks were later in the day and I never retuned. I think this thing is about as close to Ford as an amp can get. The rest is guitar, mics etc. Who knows though. The Robben Ford guitar is a big part, but the neck is so thin on them, they are useless to me. I had to sell it. Ashame becuase its such a nice sounding guitar. Thanks for listening Jack! :)

Great playing!!! I just listed my CRSigV2 for sale here but after listening to you play it I'm thinking I should hold onto it. But, alas, I could keep if for years and not be able to get out of it what you can.

You are a very melodic player with great phrasing. Does that come naturally or did you work long and hard on it? I keep practicing (about 3 hours a day) but I'm frustrated with the progress I'm making.

    Thanks for the clips.

Oh yeah, do you remember the settings that you used on each of the clips? Thanks.

Thanks man, but for the amount of time I have put in, I should be the best player on the planet. :( I have to work twice as hard as most guys to get to the same place, it seems to me.

    Anyway,
    Keep that amp!!!!!

    :)

    Hey Gary.
It was all the PRS PS Artist III with dragon II pups and a solid Br. Rosewood neck, which REALLY colors the sound. Thanks for checking it out.

Hey, Tag, just out of curiosity, what speaker(s) were you playing through?

I own a couple of CRSigs. If you're going to be hyping them now :jo, I might have to dump mine. :D

Seriously, glad you're finding something you like. :BEER

    Hey Tag,

Just had a chance to listen to this on good speakers and wish I hadn't! WOW. I'd agree that this probably gets as close as you can to the "Poli" tone w/o the exact recording conditions and Robben's paws to bring out the little details. Congrats!

Tag, very nice job!!! Congrats on getting really close to my least fave RF tone! LOL I'd be impressed if you could get Rugged Road or Miller's Son for me. Give it a try! Bet you can't.... ;)

Btw, sounding and playing great...... Good stuff.
