wow. I gave up on one of the earlier versions because it kept crashing. This looks worthy if only for the new look.

Much more stable. Worthy of the .9 Beta number. They have made a huge leap forward on this.

Looking good for me.
What's "Enhance" and presumably the bits that look like loops are indeed loops? What's the significance of having one cab on a loop?
Thanks, Pete.

Attempted answers:

Check the Axe-FX wiki. The Enhancer is a stereo field 'enhancer' tool.

The 'bits that look like loops' are some of the routing possibilities; you can create anything in the grid your heart desires, ie. side chain, parallel, serial.

There's no significance of having one cab in a loop other than I imagine it works for the tone/effect the guy that did that preset wanted. Just guessing, never tried that preset.

It should be said that you don't require an Axe-Fx to be able to install and mess around with the editor. Of course, you won't hear anything and certain operations (e.g. patch upload/download) will be non-functional... but you can get a feel for the grid and the various block-type parameters etc, etc.

Thanks, Scott - though I'm still not certain on the "Enhancer" - I guess you have to use it to appreciate it.

Best, Pete.

Only use it with stereo patches and output. If you sum to mono, it does not cool things to your sound. It's meant as a stereo 'enhancer' if you will.

Hi,

I still down own an Axe-Fx but this beta still managed to keep me occupied for the better part of two hours. It seems like a great piece.

Now if I could find a way to try out the v.9.

I wounder how great this editor would be if I ran it on a computer with a touch screen. Rumor has it that Mac will show one at the end of January. Under $1000.

Cheers,

Would be cool, but the new Mac tablet will probably be running iPhone apps, not Mac OS X, so editor won't work.

I haven't downloaded it yet, but it looks like they tried to get it to a tad more info with less wasted space.

Is it still a fixed window size interface, and can you still only see one block at a time?
