I see you have the treble pretty much off..... try pluggin into the "#2" channel..... much fatter and smoother IMHO.

That was just one of the recommended "Texas Blues" settings that Fender included.........I thought the only diff between 1&2 was volume?

Oh no - my buddy has a VK - and channel two doesn't have that glassy (what I consider glassy) high end - it's more rounded. I mean - if you crank on the treble - it'll get the spank. It just sounded more pleasing to the my ears. YMMV of course.

Indeed! Probably my favorite current production Fender amp.

Awesome amps, good luck with the reliability. That reverb is a problem and NOT just on the old EL-84 models. I've got two buddies locally that have battled with VK's for years, and both had the later 6V6 model. They are sweet sounding amps though when they work. My favorite guitar for those amps is a 335 with PAF style humbuckers.

Is this a current production amp?
Didn't realize they were doing eyelet/turret boads anymore?

They're still listed on the Fender site, but I couldn't tell whether or not these current production VibroKings are PCB or not....

I wish the trem were bias-vary instead of opto... THEN it'd be PERFECT.

Looks killer. I've always loved that transition look: white knobs, black panel & tolex. Weren't there some Bassmans done that way around 1964, just before the blackface circuit?
