I am looking for a 335, and came across a new one, and was leery, but was pleasantly surprised at the playability, and finish of this guitar. However, it seems SMALLER than my old 335, and very light compared to the others in the store. Any opinions on these guitars?

Are you sure it wasn't an ES339? Those are more LP sized.

Or, iirc, my Fat Neck 335 is slightly smaller than the regular production ES335 to more closely mimic the size of the original batch.

nO,,was a new VOS 63 reissue 335 with block inlays. Indeed, was a bit smaaler than the Epi 335 right beside it, and a good 3-4 lbs lighter too. Also had nylon saddles.

It's way more accurate to '63 spec than any ES-335 reissue previous. The new VOS Reissues coming out of the Memphis shop are some of the best ES-335's since the early 60's.

The 63 body style, Memphis or Nashville, is slightly smaller (width) than other 335's.

I doubt it was 3-4 pounds lighter though! Maybe a pound, but that's actually a huge difference when it comes to guitars. My main two 335's are a half pound off from each other, and it's actually very noticeable (to me at least).

Mine's a Nashville, really wish I could compare/contrast with the new Memphis one!
