    I've got a memory lane jr. & a Flint. I'm having a lot of fun creating ambient textures with these two.

    What would you add to expand in this area?

    What pedals are you using to create ambient atmospheres?

    You should be pretty set, though a second delay of a different flavor could add quite a bit. Experiment with the volume knob on your guitar, too. Otherwise, go play guitar :)

    I'm sounding like a broken record on here today (pun not intended w/ pedal suggestion), but a Warped Vinyl chorus/vibrato would add to that. Second delay as mentioned above would too.

    great combination.
    80's mode on the flint with decay set high is one of my favourite reverb sounds.
    dml jr. is a classic with beautiful modulation and repeats.
    i'd perhaps add a neunaber wet (stereo v2 version so you get all the options) or a skreddy echo (or similar delay).
    volume pedal is always nice for making those swells. looper is essential if you don't have one.

    A 2nd delay was in my mind. The DIG sounds like it could be fun. Was also thinking something with a darker flavor, like a carbon copy or something else along that line.

    +1 i would add a pitch vibrato/chorus or a tremolo. But since the Flint has a built in trem...

    I've have a TC ditto looper, as for a volume pedal, I've thought about that route, although I have gotten really used just using my guitars volume.

    The skreddy on the other hand could be a lot of fun!

    Interesting choice. Kind of forgot about that pedal. Used to be very keen on it after seeing Mutemath's old guitarist used them. I'll definitely check it out again.

    Hi mate,

    Ive been on a similar journey...here are my thoughts;

    - For darker tones, the OBNE Black Fountain is superb.
    - For stunning ambient, the Big Sky is incredible.
    - Chase Bliss and Red Panda Particle for wierd stuff
    - Catalinbread Talisman for just superb verb and tone
    - Free The Tone Flight Time - best delay out there
    - Strymon Deco - glorious OD and vibe/delay/chorus

    And, KING OF EM ALL.... The ridiculously brilliant Digitech Obscura

    Here's my small board;

    Recently purchased a Boss Tera Echo which I find useful for ambient stuff.

    I literally just got my Black Fountain in the mail about 30 minutes ago. I am intrigued by the Obscura and am tinkling of replacing my DL-8 with it.

    I pair a BigSky and WET with numerous delays. The BigSky Cloud mode is as good as it gets in my opinion.

    I would add something capable of a little more weird souds like a Red Panda Particle or a Count to Five.

    for ambient textures i actually prefer tape echo sounds to darker analog delays. the echorec 2 preset on the tc electronic alter ego v2 is great for this in stereo. plenty of modulation so it gets swirly, and the low end rolls off really nicely so the delays decay into this heavenly bright aura, with a little bit of treble also rolled off to take away the percussive attack.

    2nd delay with modulation. Swap the flint out for a more ambient reverb like Context, BlueSky, Supermoon, Afterneath, Ghost Echo, WET, Aurora, etc..... grab a volume pedal and get to swell'n
