Ok - a bit of a teaser - just checked FedEx tracking and my 1960 Strat is being held at the FedEx office for me to pick up!

Naturally, pics will be on their way as soon as I get it home!!

OK - here we go! I waited til I could commandeer my wife's DSLR and get some good shots!

Guitar is a refin in Surf Green. Other major changes are are fret, a 5-way, a volume pot change and a bridge pickup rewind (naturally these items were taken into account in the price - I want a player, not a museum piece!). It plays and sounds like nothing I've ever heard before - those black bottom pickups just scream and the slab rosewood board is a dream!

Last pic is the '60 at home with her vintage brethren!

Very nice! I can smell that age from here. The big questions are...

    HOW DOES SHE PLAY?

    HOW DOES SHE SOUND?

    We need to know.
    Great collection as well!
    Again... Congrats!

Looks like a "he" to me.

Nice little accumulation. What year is the Peebass? I would just about sell my mother for a FB with wraparound bridge!

Holy crap that is unreal. You have the real guitar that my custom shop '60RI is based on. Gorgeous.

@localmotion 411 - holy crap, they are so close it's unreal!

@musicofanatic5 - peabass is a '66, last of the L series! That one sees the most action out of anything there actually - she's coming out tonight in fact!

@Auriemma - she plays and sounds like nothing else I've ever heard! She just sounds so right and the neck is amazing! Only trouble is, it's nearly impossible to see the clay side dot markers!

The color of yours looks a bit lighter than mine and therefore more accurate to my eyes. Also, I like the look of your whiter guard vs my mint green one because it gives the right amount of contract between the guard and the green body.

    And yours is real. Dangit.

Good spot! I missed that off my list - it is indeed a replacement pickguard!

Nice collection there. Nothing like a nice 60 slab board strat, and a killer Firebird III to boot.

Some vintage pickguards look more mint/gray so the pickguard looks quite nice on there.
