Just got this this week. After seeing it come up for sale I thought I'd take a chance on it. On paper, it's everything I love in a guitar. My number one is my ES-355 RI, I also have a couple of other semi acoustics in a reissue 345 and an '83 Matsumoku Riviera, but this is really my first delve into a vintage guitar.

It's lovely. Guitar is in great condition for its 45 years. The walnut colour is something I've not really seen before. I've never been a walnut fan but the lighter colour on this really drew me to it.
The neck surprised me a bit, the nut is shorter than what I'm used to but still very comfortable. The stereo loom may have to go if I'm to keep it a while. I'll never have a use for it, so I think I'll remove the stereo loom, replace it with a mono loom and have a dummy varitone.

    Anyhow, here's a few pics.

Love the lighter walnut shading on '70's 3#5's! I had a '79 335 for over 30 years, and the shading was very similar to yours, but the grain figuring on yours is far superior. Beautiful instrument. Congrats!

Gorgeous! That's a really unusual shade for a walnut and with the figure in the top as well it's a lovely unique piece. I love these walnut 70s models especially with a Bigsby - I have a '79 355 that's the other extreme, very dark to the point of looking black unless you put a direct light on it:

You can run the guitar mono by using a normal guitar cord but only plugging it in 1/2 way... at least that's how my old one was... nice guitar:):)

Unbelievable, TC - so gorgeous. IF I get a Gibson, that'd be the one. TGP is making me REALLY want an ES...

That Walnut top is beautifully amazing!
Walnut is so underrated as musical wood. Comes in so many figures and colors. Congratulations on acquiring that gorgeous instrument!
