So over the past 8 months, I have completely swapped out my electric guitar collection
8 months ago
Currently
the newest addition
Had a sunburst es-335 that had unstable rubbery neck, sent it back, Gibson actually stepped up and sent me a brand new cherry one, so far I haven't had to adjust the truss rod at all since i first got it. A keeper for sure.
Sold a dinged Am Delx Telecaster i bought used without a case, and a Schecter C-1 blackjack, to fund this Am 2009 Stratocaster WITH a case.
I actually prefer the strat to the tele, even with the 9.5 radius vs the compound. Strats Neck pickup is amazing, and i love the pre 2010- strat bridge pickup, does nicely with gain.
Was considering a 1991 red stratocaster, but after A/Bing between them, the black strat stood out due to a better clean tone/better unplugged tone/better playability. The red one sounded slightly nicer with gain.
Also it looks just like Jimi's last, favorite "Black Beauty" stratocaster...... love it.
Sold a Rickenbacker 330 i never played to attain a brown Faded Les Paul Studio. The Schecter i knew was basically gonna be sold once I a/bed the les paul vs the schecter with distortion, that was the only reason I was keeping the schecter, for heavier sounds, but the les paul blew it away.
I think i can live happily with these 3 electrics for the rest of my life, these are pretty much the holy trinity of electric guitars. Some might say Tele, but ehhhh...
