What a beauty, I want one too!
They have regular gloss nitro version too if you don't like relic. But they didn't fall into any trap, just because you dislike it doesn't mean others feel the same. It's a niche and they released a version of their already existing SB59 model with the relic violin finish for people like me who enjoy relic guitars.
The guitars are definitely beautiful, and I'm impressed with what they can do at a low(er) price point. Interestingly, though, I played them a couple times, and I found their sound was a little different from the sound I was going for. To my ears it sounded a little more trebly, more like what I imagine a Les Paul Custom would sound like (though I'm not 100% sure about that, as I haven't played one of those in person). I'm not saying the Eastmans are bad ... I'm just saying the sound wasn't quite the traditional Les Paul sound I had in mind.
To me it does sound like a Les Paul, but I think the lows are a little loose and the highs a bit bitey.
My Eastman 59V (335 copy) had poor fret work on the high notes but other than that I'm happy. I recently replaced the tuners - BIG improvement (locking) on the standard.
I love the finish, yours looks amazing!
Wow, what a great job on the review.
Looks beautiful. Congratulations.
