I've known about these for a while and I finally saw the right one pop-up for sale on Reverb. It was the right price too! And, truly a bonus, it weighs in at only 7 lbs and 1 oz.

This is my first Road Worn guitar and I'm really enjoying the feel of it! I tend to baby my guitars quite a bit, so it’s very liberating to have one that already appears to have some wear on it. In particular, I love how the neck feels - the back is so smooth and fast!

I'll admit that I'm shallow and was initially drawn to this particular model because of the color. The copper finish really stood out to me and I couldn't resist it! In person, it doesn't disappoint. It's amazing how much the finish can morph depending upon lighting.

This particular Road Worn Tele is apparently part of a limited run and some of the specs differ from the standard Road Worn series. This one has a 9.5" radius, an 'Oiled Road Worn' neck, and 'Vintage-Style Single-Coil Tele' pickups. I can certainly play 7.25" radius necks…but I do tend to favor a 9.5" radius when given the option.

All in all, I’m really impressed with the quality of this instrument! It sounds wonderful and it feels great!

Here are some up-close pictures of the Road Worn-ness. Also notice how the copper color can really change depending on the lighting.

Congrats on that Copper Beauty! I know that many of the Road Worns are real winners, enjoy!

Do the road worns have poly under the nitro, or is it just nitro? What a great color!

That's a good question! I don't know the answer myself, but hopefully someone here does...

Really cool guitar! Normally I wouldn't be into that color, but it really works with the road worn series! My understanding is that Fender recently switched the necks on these (maybe in 2018?) to 9.5 radius and a thinner medium C profile instead of a Chunky 50s profile. What are your impressions of the neck?

Mine are just Nitro, unless they changed something it should still be like that.

I'd describe the neck as a medium C. It's not quite as thick as the neck on my Hot Rod '52 Tele...but it feels a bit thicker than the neck on my Classic Series '50s Tele (some people describe the Classic Series necks as thick...that's not my experience, mine is a 2018...mine isn't thin, but I wouldn't call it thick either).

I know. I have a maple neck/blackguard metallic bronze telecaster. It's not copper but not gold either. It's in between. Under certain amounts of light, natural or incandescent, it can shift anywhere from Champagne to Frosted Rosegold to a light grey-ish brown.

I almost picked up a new purple LE RW tele a few months back at GC. Sounded really nice.. The 7.25" radius ultimately was the reason I passed. Had it been a used guitar I probably would have pulled the trigger if it was at a good price point.

I'll have to be on the lookout for one of these.

I didn't realize the Roadworn series had been discontinued. I don't see them on fender.com
