Ladies and Gents, I believe my quest for the Les Paul tone I was looking for has finally come to an end. I just received this in the mail yesterday.

I'm dropping off the guitar tomorrow for a setup since it has some minor issues, but I had the chance to play it through my Vox Lil Night Train (tomorrow I'm picking up an AC15C1) and I absolutely love this guitar! I thought I was looking for the Classic 57s tone as in my ES335 but this guitar ROCKS. When I say ROCKS, I mean it. It has the bite that I was looking for as well as the crystal clear cleans when paired with the Vox. I'll let you guys know more after I pick it up from the setup next week.

Tobacco burst is my favorite color for a LP.

    Congrats! And Rock It Out!

Nice. I love bursts that are darker around the edges, and you can't really go wrong with an LP Classic!

Enjoy Bro! I love my LP Classic! I have swapped out the pick ups for a few boutiques and ended up putting the stock pick ups back in the Classic.

The ones I tried I could not get used to the light coloured fingerboard.

But that one has nice figuring. I like it.

Yeah, actually this one is a 2007 with a rosewood fretboard. The new ones have a maple fretboard. Love how this rosewood feels.

I have never seen a Classic with anything other than a Rosewood fret board.

I believe he's referring to the new Custom Classic model which has a baked maple board.

It looks exactly like my '06 Classic. I like more of a PAF type sound, so I put a 57 Classic + in the bridge, and a 57 Classic in the neck. I also swapped the pots for CTS 500k Audio taper, and used Sprague Vitamin Q PIO caps (.022 bridge/.015 neck) and put some speed knobs on it. And also I just put a plain pickguard on it, sans the 1960.

Very nice man. I actually took it to the shop today and they are replacing the pots with the longer standard ones that come with Les Pauls today. Apparently the pots used in the Classics were not as good?

Congrats! My 2001 Les Paul Classic has been my main work horse guitar for almost ten years now.

Longer shafts? The classic came with short shafts? That mainly depends on how the maple top was routed for pots at the back. But yeah. The stock pots are crap. Even the standard ones on the LP Standards are rubbish. Ask for RS. Nothing else better out there.

Yup getting all of them replaced. I'm actually really pumped about how this thing will play once setup!
