NGD Gone wrong (Fake) 2000 Gibson Les Paul Standard

well, I finally broke down, and got the guitar I have always wanted. It hasn't arrived yet, but it will get here Friday (Pics are from who traded it with me)

I have wanted a Gibson Les Paul since I was young, but due to the quality control issues I have heard of so often I never thought I would.

I was offered this as a straight trade for my only other guitar, my 2002 PRS Swamp Ash Special.

I do not really know the specs, I do know the the pickups were changed to the Classic 57 Pickups, and the tuners changed to Grover tuners which did cause left over holes in the back of the headstock (I plan to get this repaired immediately along with a setup when it gets here, gonna put on some hipshot locking tuners instead)

I am rather excited to give this one a go, I am hoping the 2000's were a good year for Gibson, I feel the only thing I want more is a good Historic, but I feel until more monetarily stable, this will be my main squeeze.

Thought I would post it here, see what you guys thought.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

(I have since realized that this is a complete fake, so ignore my excitement.)

Very nice. I have a 2000 classic and it’s amazing. I hope your standard is everything you wanted in a les paul, congrats!

You might want to back out this trade. To many red flags. If it is a long distance trade you can always redirect your package back to you

Hate to say, as soon as I looked at the guitar I had concerns. That was before I scrolled down the thread. I see others have similar concerns.

I don’t believe this is a real Gibson. Easy enough to send pics to Gibson CS through the website and ask them.

lots of things wrong here. Pickup rings, pick guard, serial number, inlays, binding nibs, the case etc

Nashville bridge is flipped the wrong way, but that’s easy to reverse.

sorry for your loss

I just shipped my guitar out today. I will get in contact with FedEx, and get it sorted out with them.
That serial and Gibson logo are not correct for a 2000 les paul standard.
The stamp should not be exposed like that. It should be covered in finish.
I am sure others will chime in also.

Preface with sorry OP... You can remove all doubt if you look in the truss rod cavity... I'm sure that you won't like what you're about to see.

The 4 latch case alone looks a lot like it came from the place of swindlers and cheats - and that's the smallest detail I can see... Yeah I'm talking about China.
