Okay, so not so new. It was a Valentine's Day/early bday gift from the wife.:rockin

First of all, owning 7 Rondo guitars and 3 CVs, I want to say I've never doubted that import guitars could be made to play and sound great. However, my mind's been blown away by this guitar.

The fact that not only was this Rasmus built in one of the best shops in China with Suhr supplied wood and hardware, but was also inspected, plek'd and set up by the same folks in the US that make Suhrs play so well, made this decision very easy for me. I'm a huge GG fan, so an axe spec'd very similar to what he plays just made it all the more tempting (my first sig guitar).:drool

What can I say? It plays better than any other axe I got, only matched by my '11 Dlx Strat. However, it's much lighter and feels tighter than my dlx, especially at the neck joint. Also, the mahogany+Suhr pickups combo slays my Dlx's N3 pickups (which I do feel are underrated). Action, intonation... everything was set up perfectly right out of the box. I love the gig bag too, lol.

I really do believe if all Rasmus are built like this one, no one would ever guess they were Chinese built if they didn't have MIC on them.:bonk

I'll be honest. What convinced me was playing a few Andersons at GC. After playing a guitar of that quality and wanting a 24fretter, I just had to find out what a Suhr played like because of the I've read about the quality of both, but my local Suhr dealer doesn't have any in stock.:dunno.

Having read by many, including Guthrie himself, how close these play to their Suhr brothers, I pulled the trigger and happy I did. Only thing I would change about this axe is adding SS frets cuz of the way they felt on the Andersons I played.

Having said all that (sorry for the rant), I will def. be buying a Suhr Modern in the future. Now for some pics:

I'm not much into 24-fretters, but that looks killer.

Sticker price, $1400. Well worth it! Definitely plays better than any guitar I've tried/owned in that price range.

I didn't know what to expect as I've never tried a Suhr before, but I was pleasantly surprised. Kinda D-ish shape, where it's a bit slimmer/flatter in the middle, but has more shoulder than a modern C-shape strat neck.

Did Guthrie sign it? Attended a clinic of his, and saw the Aristocrats, after. Amazing talent!

This is not true. I emailed them and asked. They will upgrade to SS frets. In fact, I'll be sending mine in for upgrade very soon.

Do want. I played the Suhr GG and while it was nice, the price is pretty crazy. Gotta try one of these.
