so i just received a gorgeous CS '67 tele that was part of a limited NAMM run from last year: fatter necks, 6105 frets and, evidently, brazilian rosewood round-lamb fret board?! any wood experts want to try and confirm? the grain has some black streaks and is really swirly. i've had a lot of rosewood necks, and none of them have looked remotely like this. it practically jumped out at me when i opened the case. i've seen the CS use it for quite a few guitars for wildwood. . . check it out:

I've seen IRW like that. BRRW usually looks denser, but it could be.
    Anyway, great looking!

You should just say phooey on it - might be defective - send it to me, and I'll let you know in a few years.

Fender has records for the specs of each custom shop guitar, give their customer relations a call. They were able to tell me the value of the cap in my guitar.

Some places like WildWood have custom shops that have BRW.

Looks like Madagascar Rosewood from the pics. Its not Indian, thats for sure. Could be braz, but looks like MadRose.

Anyone who confirms what type of rosewood a fretboard is from a few pictures is no expert.
Only Fender can tell you what it really is.

I'm not very familiar with Madagascar RW but the orange tone in some parts of the photo look like Cocobolo, I have a large stash of it and the reds and orange's in old growth coco look just like it. When it ages a bit it gets dark like Braz,

The type of wood should be listed on the spec sheet from Fender.
