I went to Chicago Music Exchange earlier this month after playing a show nearby the night before. Spent most of the day playing through their wall full of 335 and the likes. Tried not to look at tags for model names or price, but simply find out which model myself and the other guitar player in my band liked the most. Ended up digging a used 2011 satin cherry the best. Honestly not what I thought I would have liked, since I like the look of the flashier 335's with inlays and ornate headstocks. But I was looking for a guitar to play out with, not display. Absolutely could not argue with the feel of this one's neck, and the pups just screamed.

Didn't have all the cash required that day, but this past week CME had a 15% off code that happened to work. Saw the 335 was still there and grabbed my wallet. Now it's here in my house, but I guess they recommend waiting a day to let the guitar acclimate before opening the box. Trying to occupy myself and not just stare at the box..:knitting

This is the first time I've ever seen a Shockwatch doober on a box. Good idea I suppose. Had the driver notate it was red, but we'll wait and see if that means anything. Seems very well packed, nothing moving inside there.

Beautiful. A good guitar is a good guitar.

For what it's worth (hot topic of debate), I waited maybe all of one hour when I had my 335 shipped to me a couple year's back in the dead of winter.

Of course, it's worth the wait over the risk. You can always do it in stages (bring it inside > open one end of the box > open the other end > slide the case out > open the case > take the damn thing out > etc).

I wonder why all higher end guitars don't come with shock monitors.

I'm at hour 8 right now, and I'm jonesing hard. I've played all my tele's and my SG, rearranged my pedalboard, and taken the trash out. I'm about to itemize the spice cabinet or something.

Satin Red 335s are the best. These keep tempting me. Congrats!

Well my friend, I played that particular guitar, on the same day as you I believe. I would say it is worth the wait because if the top split that would be a shame. Also I can't wait to hear it again.

Congratulations on the guitar, and props on the patience my friend.

I've never seen those shock indicators before. Good idea.

For. Real. Impressive discipline, but give up and give in.

As long as the box remains closed, the guitar is both damaged and undamaged by the shipping process.

I envy you for that, I have seen the video tours of the shop and I have a dream of spending a few days there... I ordered my ES-330 from them last year, the box didn't have these stickers. Mine was on the road for about a week, twenty days at the customs and a day at the post office. I opened the case at once when I got home, I was happy to see the (VOS) finish intact and the truss rod straight. I tuned and it was perfect!

    Happy NGD :beer

    Ahhhh, Schrodinger's Guitar! Nice pull!

I am also very impressed with the OP's Buddha-like patience! Oh, and CME's use of the shock thingies! That's cool as the other side of the pillow!

    Congrats!
    And, there's no way I'm waiting a day to unbox a 335.
