My wife fell in love with this guitar about a year ago when we were looking at DGTs for me but it was out of our price range at the time. Fast forward to Nov. 1 and I get a call from my Guitar Center salesperson and he said it’s on a blowout sale. My wife and I rushed down and picked it up for my Christmas present however, it had a few spots on the edge of the fingerboard where the V12 finish seemed to be lifting off. ( Look by 12th fret marker in first picture) Guitar Center sent it in to PRS and they fixed it under warranty and I just got it back. It was a long, 3 month process but the results are amazing. They ended up refinishing the entire neck, buffing the guitar and resetting it up. The only upgrade I am thinking about (if you can call it an upgrade) is getting the neck carve changed to a wide thin. I was going to have them do it while they had the guitar but there was no cost advantage and I wanted to see how I liked the pattern neck before I make the change. Anyway, looking forward to rehearsal this Thursday!

Thanks. I will say the PTC shop did an excellent job on the repair and I also appreciated Guitar Centers willingness to send it in.

Cool guitar! I see you managed to get a DGT after all as well? Or did you already have that?

I have one in that same color. Great guitar.

I have a similar pair, DGT standard and a 2000 SC. Love them both. Congrats on a beautiful NGD.

It appears this guitar puts the 2 volume knobs on top (bridge volume on top close to the bridge) Can anyone confirm this is normal?

PRS really know their market with those cases.

.

Yeah, I think I will take it to gigs in my monocase gig bag. Not only is it a little different looking, the case is extremely heavy although it seems to be made nicer than the standard PRS hardcase I got with my DGT. For example, it has a little lip inside so everything lines up perfectly when it closes.

Very nice! Love to hear your thoughts on the LP/DGT/SC comparison.

I am hoping to compare it with at least my DGT tonight if the kids and my amp cooperate. (My mini recto started auto channel selecting last night so I have to fix that too. Hope it's just a bad connection)

Yes thats how they are wired. I'm thinking about rewiring mine to have the front volume connected to the bridge pickup like the DGT.

The more I play it, the less I think I will get the neck carve changed. It doesn't feel much different than my DGT. The setup the PTC did was amazing. Even in the cold weather, it arrived in tune and plays perfect. (7 days on a fedex truck) The only thing I think it needs is a new strap. Thinking of trying something from brookwood leather.
