I beg to differ on your comment regarding Pete and have always found him to be an exceptionally nice human, a fine cat owner and a fan of the Red Sox's.

However we can both agree that he's an awesome builder!

Johnny congrats on the NGD. Very cool guitar, but I have a hard time visualizing you playing a single-cut after seeing you playing your Tele and Strats for so many years.

Over the years I've gotten to know some of the great "master-builders" of our generation. Guys like John English, John Page, Saul Koll Brett Faust & Pete Malinoski to name just a few...

I grew up playing vintage Gibson's and changed to Fender's in the early 80's. I was lucky to find and play real vintage guitars cheaply. My Koll and now my Malinoski shake up my musical comfort zone. So, this means I have to bring too many guitars to gigs!!!

That Malinoski is fantastic. Like everything else Pete builds. huge fan right here. And while he likes to claim a certain level of being a curmudgeon, my interaction with Pete has always been very pleasant.

What is the scale length on that? That's a long neck. It almost looks like a baritone.

Not to stick my neck out... But, the Hondo has a Gibson scale & 24 frets.

I like the finish on that beauty. It kind of looks like a gold top, but it kind of doesn't.

It's a textured green-gold. I use waterborne acrylic lacquer and there is some bronze powder in there that tends to patina slightly to the green side in the short time it is wet... at least I think that's what's happening:

Look at that figured fretboard! And at Gibson scale but 24 frets, I bet playing it's a fun and easy experience.
