I went to Wilcutt Guitars in Lexington KY with every intention of buying a Taylor or a Martin. What I came home with is something completely different and just an amazing guitar. After 3 hours of milling about the store playing everything in the 1000 to 1200 price range, I came across a single Breedlove on the wall and fell in love. It just sounded so much bigger and richer than anything else i could afford. It help it's own with 2k guitars. The sticker said $1600 but I got it for 1400. Bob Wilcutt set it up himself and I can't say enough about this amazing shop.
When I got home I looked up the axe and learned that it hasn't been made for years and Breedlove as a company has been a mess lately but I can't say I care. This is the sweetest acoustic I've ever played. I love the neck and tone.

Every Breedlove I've had or played blew me away, but i haven't played anything since he sold it or whatever.

I'm really in love with the "Breedlove Sound" it's very loud and complex. It fits nicely between the Martins and the Taylors and takes a little from each. But sounds much better than their options in the sub 2k price range. The build quality is as good as anything I played (Wilcutt has an amazing selection of high end guitars).

Congratulations on your Breedlove Pro Series D25.
I love my '95 Breedlove MJ-22 with Madagascar Striped Ebony back and sides sounds amazing! Enjoy...

I have similar sentiments on Breedlove. Had the same experience at GC and walked out with an Atlas Stage D25/SRe after playing Martin and Taylor in the 1K-1500 range. it even sounds good amplified.
Enjoy the axe!

I had started looking at the Atlas (which I really liked) series but for the extra 400 bucks the Pro is much richer sounding guitar, has AAA tone woods and was assembled in the US. At $1000 used they are a steal.

Agreed. Update... I found out online that most Breedlove dreads ship with medium strings on them. Mine had lights so I changed them over to see what difference it would make. I have to say the guitar got LOUD. But it sounds much more one dimensional. I'll be moving back to lights today or tomorrow.

I have two Breedloves - one maple and one rosewood. I love em both. I also have a Guild and Martin and Gretsch. Wife says "too many guitars!" I just bought the Breedlove pro D25 to play in our church band because of the electronics that my other acoustics don't have but since then another band member has been doing all the acoustic work while I play the Gretsch. So with "too many guitars" I'm selling my Brand new-old stock (2009) Breedlove Pro Herringbone D25. Anyone interested I'll give em a good deal.

I continue to be amazed by this axe. I've had it since December and every Jam I go to convinces me that this guitar is magic. It's just so big and harmonic.

I'm wondering if the new American series is as nice. The woods are not as pretty.
