This thing just turned me on. I just couldn't resist it. All of my guitars are pretty cookie cutter mainstream, and I wanted something a little more unusual for some reason. I sort of wanted a guitar that had been modded so it would be different but not ridiculous. I'm 47 and pretty conservative. . I bought it from an awesome TGP member in the Emporium. I will report back tomorrow on how she feels and sounds. I love guitars and to me they are instruments but also works of art........

Here are some pics and some of the spec info from the seller's listing. Many of you will recognize it from the Emporium.

2006 Gibson Les Paul Studio with custom finish and all black hardware (except tuners)...all mods are brand new (done within the last week), and include:

(1)Brand New DiMarzio 36th Anniversary PAF Pickups
(2)Brand New BCS Les Paul Wiring Harness with Switchcraft jack and 3-way toggle
(3)Brand New Gotoh Black Tune-O-Matic Bridge and Tailpiece
(4)Brand New Rosewood toggle switch made by John Guilford

The color is a burnt-orange/copper/metallic finish that is absolutely stunning...the pics do not do it justice!

The original owner told me that the body is a one-piece slab of mahogany, and it resonates like one for sure. It has a very snappy, vibrant acoustic ring, which is one of my highest criteria when choosing an instrument.

Guitar is fairly light...I would guess-timate around 8 lbs, give take a few ounces. Neck carve is very comfortable not too thin, not too fat.

I wouldn't think that I would like that color ... but I do. Very cool.

The more I looked at it, the sweeter it looked. I also would have never thought I would like the color, but dang I just couldn't stop thinking about it. There is just something about that color with the black hardware that just works.

Sick color combo, like an H-D Les Paul.

Well I got it, and have had a couple of days to play it. This thing is just so cool to look at. It is different, but not crazy different. It's just cool - to my eyes at least. And man does it sound good. Like I said, I have some other Les pauls and this one is the best one I have ever heard. I'm pretty fired up about this one.

Super cool looking! I remember seeing that one in the Emporium and thinking "should I, or shouldn't I"? The fact that I had recently purchased a PRS Mira kinda swayed me towards "no, better not". :)

Glad it found a good home, congrats!
