I stumbled on to this deal at a pawn shop and got it for only $200 today. This could be one of the best pawn shop deals I have enjoyed. I love the candy apple red color and the neck/fretboard is wide/thin and very comfortable for me.

    Wow, nice find.
Did they have any more? :)

The pawn shops around Brooklyn are more miss than hit.

No, just this one guitar there. Pawn shops in Florida are so abundant and most are misses but you have to keep chugging along and sure enough, you find deals here and there. last year, I bought a Marshall 4 x10 cabinet 1965A for only $140. I was able to add a straight 4 x 10 cabinet to complete the stack, about 6 months later but for a much higher price.

I think that's true of almost any pawn shop these days.

Nice, those are usually around $400. Now you just need to grow some long blonde hair...

It also looks like somebody already swapped out the strap buttons to the "correct" ones for you.

    Nice!

The ugly, bulbous knobs have to go and I am putting in a set of Duncan pickups (Jazz neck, JB bridge).

$769 new from Sweetwater, so $400 used seems about right. I'll pass on the long, blonde hair, even if I could grow it, which I can't and never could. Even when I had a full head of hair, it grew more like a mushroom bomb and I was the neighborhood embarrassment.

I installed Seymour Duncan pickups and the improvement is significant.

Lol, I got mine for $300 and I thought it was a steal. Congrats.

Also put the SDs (PG and '59 set) in mine, decided to tweak with it a little more and threw in a core nut and MannMade trem upgrade kit. It's my go-to trem guitar now.

    Killer deal.

    Nice looking guitar.

I guess I'm lucky to find deals like yours on a VERY regular basis here in my neck of the woods.

    Congrats!

Yes, you are lucky if that is the case. Most of the guitars at the pawn shops here are complete garbage; not many brand names. This is my 2nd PRS pawn shop acquisition. The first one was an american semi hollow S2, which I bought for $600 in excellent condition. I never see any high end american guitars in pawn shops, never even an american Strat.

There are A LOT of nice good quality Fender Strats, Gibson LP's, Taylors, and Fender Basses in pawnshops for give away prices around these parts.

I guess I gotta get em while the gettin's good.

The Duncan JB in the bridge made a huge improvement. It sounds killer now. The Jazz pickup in the neck position is not so great for overdrive rhythms but it's terrific for clean tones, without the usual crappy midrange tone of humbucker pickups.

I believe so. It is very dark. Typical great playing Korean fretboard/neck.
