After much searching and debating if I should buy a used or a new one of these, I pulled the trigger on a brand new one! And it is totally worth it! I had played one in the store and it sounded great. This one in my setup sounds amazing! I can't recommend this guitar enough to people who are looking for versatility [and beauty]. The only thing I would change is the truss rod cover that says "special" and I would replace it with a rosewood one like the one in my 2012 Signature Limited.

In terms of quality and playability this guitar is superb, bar none. Easy to play, perfect intonation, perfectly leveled frets, every single detail you can look at is polished and perfect.

In terms of tone, it's a swiss army knife for guitars, from humbucker to single coils, to the 2 and 4 positions with that chime. I am impressed by how clear these pickups sound, they are truly impressive. I thought the 408s were great, I love the Gibson Custombuckers in my R8, but these are spectacular.

Here are a few pics ... check out that color!

I like that green one even more, but the new one looks good too. Happy NGD!

I'm a Copperhead finish guy these days but that guitar in Autumn Sky looks amazing.

I know it sounds even better so congratulations.

    Hey Jostein,
I have had a Cu22 semi hollow LTD trem for 9 years now. My oldest guitar and it's going no where. Its beat up, dented, worn frets, and it still sounds unreal. Matches my 2 PSs for tone. I think these are th he same guitars but with a middle pup. I stand by my claim PRS semi hollows with trems are among the finest sounding electric guitars ever made. Simply as amazing guitars!! But you still need an L5 first.

Hah! You are right, I had the offer of getting one of these Ltd for cost but passed on it. Saving for a Byrdland.

While I wouldn't go that far Tag, the Silver Sky works very well for the VaughnC sound;)!

But these new P90 McCarty's sound much better than the one's I tried/played years ago...and I think I just might have found a cool alternative VaughnC sound in them:eek:!

So, while a couple Fender's will likely stay in the harem, the Silver Sky is getting the most play time...and, when I get bored with that, the P90 McCarty opens up another joyful noise door:rolleyes::D!

Congrats and welcome to the club! I adore mine and haven’t really wanted to play my other guitars since I got it. Totally agree with you assessment.

And thanks to Jostein’s earlier video and feedback, which was the tipping point for me!
