I've always wanted a Les Paul. I bought a Traditional Goldtop a few years ago but ended up selling it. Just didn't bond with it.
This week I picked up a 2013 LP R7 (New Old Stock) from a music store here in Canada. Got a healthy discount.
This guitar weighs in at 8.2 lbs and sustains like no other guitar I've owned.

    Health discount?

I got a 2013 R7 that was new/old stock too, last year. Fantastic guitars, don't know how they can go unsold for a couple of years! But you and me are the lucky beneficiaries so no complaints I guess.

I've got to get a LP "weight restriction" prescription from my Dr.....

(I'm sure it was a "healthy" discount even though the euphoria one can bring is good for your health & well being overall though.)

I was hoping you could go in a guitar store ( cough) and get a discount (cough cough) if you weren't feeling well. (ahhhh-choooo)

OP is from Canada, they have a different system up there!

Congrats on that one. I wanted to pick up one from my local GC, but they wouldn't budge on the $4295 + tax. Argh. So I waited and scored a 2009 Darkback on eBay, which should arrive on Friday. Have a Happy Goldtop weekend!!!!

I got mine for $3,900 Canadian which is just a few dollars over 3k US. They price before discount $4,697 Canadian.

    Nice one mate. Enjoy it.

I'd love a Gold Top one day.

Nice work. The 2013 I played was very nice. The neck filled my hand nicely without being too big and it was pretty light and resonant. Here's hoping that my incoming 2009 is similar.

Not many guitars are as sexy as a GT LP.
Now take that stupid sticker off the guard. ;)
    Enjoy.
