I just picked up a Vaschenko LV. It's actually built in Belarus, not Russia, by Valery Vaschenko, but that's not as much fun for a thread title.

The guitar is likely a little thicker than a standard Les Paul. Body and neck are Korina. Overall weight is under 8 lbs. It arrived a couple of days ago. Really nice build. Looks great. Plays and sounds better.

Pics below. Neck feels like a '59 carve. Finish is nitro. Fretboard is coccbolo. Fret wire is Jescar stainless steel frets size .100 x.051. Pickups are an older pair by Tom Holmes.

    Full specs:
body - white Korina 1 piece
neck - Black Korina 1 piece
    top - flame maple 5A
    fret board - cocobolo
    headstock veneer - cocobolo
    neck inlay - celluloid
    binding - ABS cream
    profile neck - "V" of the 1st fret, "C" - 12th fret
    frets - Jeskar stainless steel FW51100 --- S.100 "X.051 (2.54X1.30mm)
electronics covers - carved from the body
Bridge - Schaller ABR1 and Stoptail piece
    tuners - Gotoh 510
    pickups - Tom Holmes
    finish - nitrocellulose lacquer

Super sharp. Korina looks great with the dark top in contrast. Congrats!

Very, very nice. I'm really digging the thicker body too. Congrats.

Love pretty much everything about this. Thick korina, maple top, Braz board, stainless frets, Tom Holmes, belly cut... yes please. I'd like one in lemon, with maybe some pizza and beer.

VERY nice guitar...but I wish you had not deleted the other thread. There was some good discussion in there that others in a similar situation may have benefitted from in the future.

having spent a summer in bulgaria in the 90s, i grew up thinking that nothing of quality could possibly from eastern europe, ex-ussr except el84s and PIO caps. but this guy is really building what, on all accounts, are world-class instruments. i applaud him for getting his name and work out there in the world esp. since belarus is smack in the geographical middle of some messy military conflicts etc.

and i would love to see his take on a lefty carve top burst sg-style...

Wow, impressive. Looks nice. Immediately reminded me of a Huber. Maybe that's the vibe they're going after.

I have an LV and it is one of my favorite players. I also have a set of Holmes pickups in it. The Korina in yours is exceptional! Now try and play those stainless frets down!
