This guitar was red when I bought it used. I hate red guitars, so I poured some acetone on it to see if that would do the trick. It worked, but not quite. So I tried some paint stripper, which seemed to bleed the red paint into the poly undercoat. I should have stuck with acetone and hit it a few times. Anyway, after some 400 grit sandpaper, 0000 steel wool and scratch remover, it came out perfectly fine, at least for what I was after. The weird thing is, is seems to sound better now than before, which I'm not sure is the removal of paint, or the fact that I don't hate the way it looks.
