I just received this today. It was a special order by Rainbow Guitars:

    The specs:
Fender Custom Shop 72 Telecaster Thinline Sonic Blue Masterbuilt

Masterbuilt at the Fender Custom Shop by Yuri Shishkov, this Sonic Blue 72 Tele Thinline leaves me almost speechless. But let's try and muster something up here for you. We commissioned Fender to make us a pair of these Tele's in Sonic Blue and Fiesta Red based on a model we previously special ordered with a few twists. The guitar has a matching Sonic Blue neck and headstock, gold plated parts and a great feeling 60's oval shaped neck. The Custom Humbucking pickups sound beefy and clear at the same time just by rolling off a little on your volume pot. If you have been looking for the top of the line Telecaster that looks as elegant and sexy as can be, the Fender Custom Shop has pulled out all the stops this time.

    Weight 6lbs. 7oz.

Wow, unique is correct. I don't think this would work in many colors, but it does with this one! Congrats!

Wow, tort binding? That's freaking awesome, I wish it showed up better in the pics, I'm sure it's quite fetching. I probably would have opted for a rosewood fretboard, but Sonic Blue is my fave Fender colour anyway, so I can dig it. Really beautiful guitar.

Thanks everyone! The Tort binding is stunning and the tort pickguard really pull the design together. The tort is lighter than in the above photos. It almost looks black in the photos. The specs don't mention that it's finished with nitro (I guess all Fender masterbuilt/custom shop guitars are nitro). It's very loud acoustically and very light.

The case candy included a mini setup tool set. The guy from Rainbow said that this took 2 years to get, from the time he ordered it.

I was a little disappointed that it didn't come with a custom shop case but I just realized that the case is a re-creation of the cases from the 70s with a silver raised Fender logo on one side, which is pretty cool.

It feels really nice under the fingers and lots of work went into doing the fret ends.

I feel weird saying this, but it's a very pretty guitar, and unique as heck. I'm guessing that was very expensive! Awesome guitar!

Wow, I'm impressed. I couldn't have imagined a Fender Thinline looking like that. Do the pups have Cunife magnets? More importantly, congrats and enjoy!
