I posted this in another thread but felt it deserves its own. My Warmoth Hybrid Strat body showed up last night and I cleared my schedule to put my Strele together. I must say - it came out way better than I expected. All that's left is to wire her up!

I'm optimistic that it is going to sound killer. It plays like a dream. Fender '62 Telecaster Custom pickups.

Thanks! I love the look. I might love it a tiny bit more with a rosewood fingerboard, but I had the neck already (and it’s fantastic) and didn’t really want to shell out the $ for a new one.

I really, really like that. For some reason, I usually see these hybrids in solid colors. Your burst really looks great. (I vote to keep the maple neck. Kind of nails the Half Strat/Half Tele motif.)

Thanks, I too like the maple more and more.

    Thanks!

Thanks... the body looks even better in person. The back pockguard really makes it pop.

Hahaha... deliberate - can’t beat the middle position on a Tele. ;)

Nice, the angled switch just makes sense on a tele in my opinion. I really like the overall concept. While I like the sound of a tele, I don't get along well with the shape as well as a strat (that admission might get me banned from TGP!). This really appeals to me.

Is it a Warmoth neck as well?

Thanks... I’ve always found that I love strats but never cared for the pickups... the Tele tone is it for me. So it made sense to merge the two. I figured while at it I might as well make some careful improvements - angled switch control plate, Gotoh In Tune bridge, etc.

the neck is a Warmoth vintage modern construction, fatback, compound radius, 1-11/16” at the nut. Great sounding neck I had on a blackguard parts Tele for a couple years.

Nice build! Warmoth stuff is top notch, I have 3 amazing Warmoth strats I got used for insane prices and once I got 'em all my Fenders went bye bye. Enjoy it!

Thanks... funny you say that. I have a wall of nice guitars that I haven't played much since i built my first parts Tele a couple years ago. This one may push a few out the door.

Love a good Strele, congrats! But the right mixture for a Strat & Tele must (IMO) at least have a Strat neck PU. Middle PU voluntary.

This 51' Squier Mod, with a Strat nexk PU would be my absolute dream!

Beauty. My preference would be a strat headstock.

I've had an itch for a Telemaster that will eventually need to be scratched.

It's staying. It has grown on me.

WOW - that thing looks awesome (except for that pickguard)!

A couple people have said that... I really prefer the Tele headstock though. I didn't always feel that way, but now to me it is perfect.

    OP, that looks fabulous!

I'd love to hear clips of it once you're done.
