Nick Greer Appreciation

I just wanted to give a public thank you to Nick Greer.

A little while ago my Greer Underdog 15 Mod 1 head just stopped working one morning. I tried everything I could to revive her but she just didn't want to work. I received the amp in a trade deal here at TGP. It just didn't ever seem to be right to me. Nick decided that he wanted to take a look at her and give an overhaul. I sent the amp to Nick. He called me this afternoon to say that the amp is working again and sounds great. He called me back a couple hours later to say that he is sending me a new set of tubes (pre and power) as well as the rectifier - all free.

What he has done is above and beyond anything that he needed to do. I asked if I could pay to help bare the brunt of some of the cost but he said he wouldn't hear of it.

The amp should be back here next week. Nick is a great guy that respects his customers and wants them happy with his builds. I just thought he deserved a little recognition!!

Thanks Nick,
Bill

Nick is a great guy that builds some killer amps. I've got my eye on a Thunderbolt or a Cam18.

Nick is the goods. We're in the same neck of the woods (Athens vs Cumming GA) and we talk pretty regularly. I've owned, and still own Greer amps and pedals, and now as a builder, he is always available to bounce ideas off of. One of the great ones.

Most of my primary rig is now built by Nick. Guy has a great ear for tone, and both amps, cabs and pedals are top notch. Super good guy as well, I can't say enough good things about him.

Same here...whole rig (save for a tuner and a buffer) are all Greer products. My main gigging amp now is a Thunderbolt 30 combo (previously a Greer Hathaway)....oh so sweet. I will tell random grandchildren stories of his greatness.

Not to mention, the amps sound GREAT. I've played on Big Mikes' Greer amps - great amp(s).

Thanks, Dana O.

I'll add my $0.02 -
A good friend has a 1x12 cab and I just picked up a 1x12 cab, both built by Nick. Beautiful construction and great sound. Also, I e-mailed him w/ a few questions prior to my purchase and he responded right away.
His excellent reputation is clearly well-deserved. I hope to own more Greer products in the future.

I almost pulled the trigger on one of his amps for sale here. I guess I have something for which to save .

Where can you test out these amps in the Atlanta or Athens area?

I've enjoyed his pedals -- very nice stuff.

Nick is in Athens, he's got a dealer I believe in Atlanta, and athens. you might shoot him an email.

Very cool. I agree that Nick Greer makes some cool gear -- I dig the Ghetto Stomp, and I had my eye on that Underdog Mod 1 that Bilbal snapped up and has just gotten fixed.

Besides the 2 or 3 amps on order, the stack of his pedals I freaking love, he's a stand up guy. Like working with him a lot!

I'm glad to hear that everyone loves Greer stuff. I just snagged that purple Thunderbolt that was for sale from a fellow TGP'r in the forum. It'll be here next week I can't wait!!! It seems like a really cool amp.

OH MAN!!! I just switched over to the Thunderbolt from the Hathaway as my main gigging amp and I must I don't think I've ever been happier. The amp is also very responsive to tube changes so it easy to tweak to taste. Let us know when you get it.

Sweet, I'm stoked. I've been a Divided by 13 fan recently, but I've decided a need a little different taste. I've heard a few people say that the Thunderbolt is their main gig rig. I'm not sure it'll replace my D13s or my Bad Cat but we'll see.
