That is the stuff! Love it. I wish I had the channel his show is on.
The Clarence influence absolutely drips off of Marty's playing! That guitar certainly ended up in the right hands after Clarence passed.
So true. Fantastic performance!
yeah he does that guitar proud for sure. What's interesting is that is sounds, to my ears anyway, exactly like it did when Clarence played it. The tone is identical.
Great tune and playing! Noticed the small amps they use.
Marty has a large collection of instruments, outfits, apparel and other
memorabilia from legendary artists and musicians.
that was nice.
i'm actually glad that clarence white's guitar was
entrusted to marty stuart by clarence's widow.
i'm glad it's getting played!
it is such a cool guitar!
That is a kickin' track.
I just learned a whole lot about Marty Stuart and Kenny Vaughan from this, thx Jim Soloway!
Are those guys playing straight in to SF Deluxes?
Yeah, Marty's the best b-bender player around I think. No one has morefully integrated the technique into his playing....maybe Brad Paisley with the G bender.
Can't listen right now but I know I will enjoy it when I get home. Marty ALWAYS delivers. Such a great player! I love his show, and of course Kenny is amazing as well.
Marty kicks butt, plain and simple.
Love the outfit too. I need a scarf like that to wear to the office!
That was awesome.....but I really love all the cyborgs behind him with their creepy robot smiles.
That's some sweet tone right there. His show on RFD TV is always great.
This thread is not helping my Tele GAS.
That was wonderful. Thanks. I took this picture of Clarence White while the Tele was still in transition. I'll look for a close up but you can see all features are still not in place (the "Satellite" logo for one).
Now that is MUSIC!
Kenny Vaughan uses a Princeton Reverb, Marty plays through an Echoplex into a Deluxe Reverb.
Wow! Talk about stealth B-Bending? Smoooooooth.
Smooth like silk.
I own Fender Custom Shop Clarence White tele. Sho is fun!!
I don't know about an original paisley b-bender but the sunburst Tele in the Hummingbyrd video was the one that Gene Parsons built in a second body for Clarence White & that Clarence used until his death. Marty acquired it from Clarence's widow along with some other memorabilia. The above video of the song Hummingbyrd was from the Marty Stuart Show when Roger McGuinn was a guest on the show last year. Marty's tribute to Clarence, Roger & those who helped establish what would become known as country rock. The best show on television in my opinion.
