I like how they call it an “unsuccessful login attempt” and yet access to 3300 users’ email accounts and logs (including wifi passwords) were exposed to the exploiters.

Sounds pretty successful.

And IIRC correctly - vulnerabilities like this were exposed last year and they brushed it off and did nothing.

Sadly, most folks use the same password everywhere so this is a big deal. Neural could be in major trouble over this. Storing sensitive data in plain text is inexcusable. It’s an offense warranting termination where I work, not to mention the potential litigation it invites.

Especially when there's evidence that it was previously brought to your attention almost a year earlier.

I’m curious to know if the terms of use specifically mention that email and wifi passwords were collected by the unit. Someone want to read through them?

If someone really did want to file a lawsuit against Neural, this might be the opening. I’d laugh but it’s not very funny.
