I recently got a 51 nocaster CS and it's amazing. But...the neck pup really isn't so useful for me. It didn't come with a modern wiring conversion kit.

I'm not experienced in soldering nor do I have any equipment to do so, so I was thinking of taking it to a reputable luthier in the Philadelphia area to do the conversion. Someone who has the experience and will make it sound even better, not the dude at my local GC.

    Thanks
    Glenn

it's an easy mod, any half-competent tech could do it.

as it stands, you have access to the normal sound of your neck pickup now; it's the middle setting on the switch.

you can also get N+B by balancing the switch hendrix-style between the middle and back setting.
