Just like the title says, it's a 1961 ES-330 refinished in Ebony.
Obligatory NGD photo (more to come).

    Beautiful.
Love these with P90s, and love the color.

Very nice, congrats. I bet it howels.

Did Gibson offer ES models in black back then? I realize it's a refin. The CS had some runs of reissues in black.

You would have had to special order black, and you'd spend the rest of eternity trying to prove that it was a factory paint job, unless you kept the bill of sale.

It's a really nice looking guitar, very tuxedo and champagne!

As far as I know there are four known original 330 dot necks in Ebony: Keith Richards and his tech have one each, Bernard Butler from Suede has the third and someone on the Les Paul Forum has the fourth. I've seen Bernard''s 330 up close a few times since he's been paying some small shows with Ben Watt and it's a spectacular guitar, looks unbelievably good with a little crazing to the lacquer and some yellow to the binding and it sounds awesome in Bernard's hands. Even a refinished one would be high on my wish list, and the OP's guitar looks beautiful as well.

    Cheers lads.
It might be for sale soon, so keep your eyes pealed!
Plays lovely, but I don't get along with the '60 neck profile.

Sweet guitar, but like you, I don't care for the 60s neck profile, either.

    Good luck with it.

So, they just glued the two of them together? Quite the step!

    Yeah!

It will be for sale in the future (didn't bond with the '60s neck profile). ;)
