Yes, this is accurate.
Sandals without socks equals ant bite city. I'm starting to understand.
*****. Take yer teaspoon of concrete and stop whinging !!
That was to get to the hospital 2 days later--I wore boots and socks in the backyard when I was attacked.
It was a simple request that I thought would not go answered.
-Well done sir, well done.
If I were you Id pay that ant nest a visit with a flame and a gallon of gasoline....just to get a little payback.
I've heard just pouring diesel down in there is enough--however, we need to get a termite/pest inspector in for a check up, and I might just ask them if they have some of that bait that destroys the nest yet is non-toxic to animals.
Except for frost BITE!
That sucks. Where in Aus are you exactly?
Just North East of Melbourne heading into the bush.
Hope you heal up ok, bender.
I,m reminded of my paternal grandmother and what she would always say when something like that happened to her grandkids:
It's called Amdro and it's sa dear as poison, but it's super effective. It's granular stuff that the ants carry back into the nest and feed to the queen.
A bucket of hot soapy water is pretty effective too.
Every bloke needs a pair of hospital sandals, just in case!
You can get a tape recorder of a piano playing middle C and play it to the nest. That will kill them.
C4 always works on an ants nest!
Japanese Welding Boots.
Have you heard the cicadas i recorded yesty. Sorry for your ant bites. Necktime try a antihistamine before you sook it out up the hospital.
That's more or less where I am but a little closer to the city. I had to take out the beginnings of a European wasp nest a few weeks a go and had a huntsman come running out of the wheelie bin at me. Jeez I hate summer in Australia.
I hope you recover quickly.
Just remember, all the **** that can kill you here, is small.
Unlike America, where all the **** that can kill you is large, like bears, moose, bison, mountain lions, hillbillies, etc
Just watch where you're walking and you're good to go
Always knew there was a reason why you had the modern day ned kelly as your avatar
Cicadas are amazing. Wife and I had a similar experience bushwalking Sunday afternoon.
Yeah, had been on anthistamines for 2 days leading up to this. 48 hrs after the bites, feet swelled up and couldn't walk, pain was intense enough to make me wretch. I was told to go immediately to the hospital by an on call service in case it was a delayed reaction.
