I started playing guitar with the Ventures (in the 90s)... absolutely great stuff. I rarely "venture" into that territory these days, but every so often I do and I still love it.

I work at a restaurant in Nashville and waited on Nokie and some of his friends. He was recording an album of Beatles covers. We talked for a little bit, he signed a card for me and even took me out to his rental SUV to listen to a couple of fresh tracks from the then-unreleased (or still unreleased? Not sure...) album of Beatles songs. That was a good night at work... I've met Trey Anastasio, Cypress Hill, and a bunch of country stars that I don't keep up with at work. I missed Neil Young by one lousy shift.

That was FUN! Thanks! I'm SO glad about my Orange purchase... today!!!! And especially after reading that they were right to you. You know, that says a lot. That vibe gets in there, I don't care if it's unsubstantiated hoodoo voodoo.... there's a vibe in the machine and that's that! Thanks man. You deserve a book sale for this thread. Look for a Pickhead order soon!

WOW! I'm glad everyone liked it. That's cool because I actually want to put more stuff like this up on my website - this was sort of like a practice run.

No, there was a lot I missed. I still can't believe I didn't check out Diamond Pedals. :jo

The Demeter Tremulator has been around for a while, but the Stereo Tremulator is fairly new, I think.

They might be, but I didn't see any there - I definitely would've noticed that! :D

Not really. That was the first time I met him in person, but we've corresponded quite a bit.

The Resovibe and Classic Fuzztown sounded pretty cool.

Great documentary. I went to CES this year for the first time with the intent to document like you did but ended up being crazy busy.

Wow, 2006 was the year I graduated High School. I didn't even play guitar yet. I believe I started playing in 2009. Crazy. Kinda neat looking back at what was popular "before my time."

So 10 years later, I wonder how many of those companies at NAMM are out of business, and I wonder what became of the teenager shredders in your pics --- are they still playing? where?

Well, sadly the teenage shred chick died less than two years after I took these photos at the 2006 NAMM show. Her name was Flash Bathory and she was only 19 years old.

I know it's an old thread, but do you know what brand of guitar this is?

Tom - did you get your hands on those Santa Cruz's? I have an OM and it's my favorite guitar. My number 1 and number 2 most desired guitars are the Santa Cruz OM Grand and a Baritone from them.
