I'm aware of the Carmen Ghia and the Tone King Meteor II from using the search function.

What other amps are out there that are 2xel84 and do not have a master volume? I prefer PTP wiring, but if it does have a circuit board in it, the jacks and tube-sockets cannot be soldered to the board.

There are so many amps and builders to research... I need to shorten the list.

    Alessandro Beagle. I love mine.

Soldano Atomic / Astroverb sort of. It is isingle channel but it combines gain and volume knobs that are interactive in setting overall volume and aggression.

I thought he said "does not" have a MV? To my knowledge all CRs have a master.

The Carmen Ghia is my favorite amp of any amp but there are also the hand wired Marshalls 18 and 20 watt (combo and head) and what one of the hottest amps around, the London from www.65amps.com

Whinfield Thomas "Winfield" is a 2x El84 head or can be had as an 4x El84 head with a half power switch. Also a 2x EL84 combo.

<edit> - Looks like their website is down... but they DO make really nice 17-watt heads and combos...

The Matchless and Badcat amps have a defeatable master, right? So they have no master effect when it's out of the circuit.

Best bargain in a PTP, NMV 2XEL84 amp? The Traynor Guitarmate of the late 60s-~$300, drop in a better speaker and it is a great little amp...

I've heard this enough times to consider it on the short-short list. I may start looking for one of these to chop down to a head.

The Carmen Ghia and Winfield-Thomas 'Winfield' and 'Brat' are all interesting too for decent prices.

Thanks for so much good info everyone!

...The Fender Pro Jr. is a great little amp with 2 EL-84's. The early(93?-96?)tweed ones have an alnico speaker. More recent ones(I have a 2001)have a ceramic magnet speaker. They both ROCK!
