Anyone find any speakers they really liked for a vintage nmv marshall other than the typical g12m, g12h, etc speakers? Something clear and without speaker breakup that still sounds nice and fat and smooth with overdrive (amp or pedals). Resists cone cry is a big + too. Just looking to try something different. Hemp coned maybe?

EVM12L's sound fat and smooth and without break up but still very musical .
Still my number one speaker choice for Marshall and Soldano amps .

Cool man thanks. You don't find they have too much high end?

I use Hellatone 60Ls and love them with my '76 1987, but those probably fall into your "typical" category.

well its is a g series but I can not say enough about late 70s early 80s g12-80s, powerful strong bass, chimey highs, and functional mids. These speakers really allow your amps EQ to shine. 80 watts 100db loud and focused, they go great with my 71 SuperLead...

I do have some scumback h75-ldc speakers which are similar. I do like these best so far I think .

Only if they are brand new and not broken in .
Once they are broken in they are very balanced and defined.
Another great speaker is the WGS12L , it's very close to the EVM12L but cheaper if your buying new.

Tone Tubby 40/40, for sure. Voiced more like a Celestion but warmer, very little cone breakup, more bass for sure, but it's very defined and you can always turn bass knob down. Never shrill or harsh on top, mids are warm but at same time punchy. Also one of the loudest speakers around.

These are one I was thinking about too. I've used the 10" before in a super reverb but never heard them in a marshall

I use both EVMS and JBLS with these amps. Love em!

    And greenbacks still work too.

This sounds kinda crazy, but I really like the Eminance Cannabis Rex with my Marshalls.

What do you like about the combo? I've liked hemp speakers with fenders but never tried with Marshalls

The Tone Tubby H Bomb Cab 2x12 (one alnico, one ceramic) sounds great with EVERYTHING.

Alnico gold + G12H are semi-typical and a really great mix!
