Phillips 5881/6L6GWB's or the new Tung Sol 6L6GC STR's.
Yeah I had the 5881's in a RI Bassman a few years back (had that amp redone PTP) they sounded purty good...
I've got Tung-Sol's staight across in my Oldfield Club D'Lux ( BF DR clone)...sounds MTY good...hmmm
I use the new TS 6L6's in my '60 brown Super and like them even more the my Phillips 5881's.

I just might get some of the Tung Sol 5881's lower the headroom a bit...

i got the pre's from Mike , supers are smokin amps!
Original Tung-sol 5881s.
Not too hard to find. But they are the best sounding tubes for that amp.
I think you'll be suprised by how good the new TS 6L6GC STR's sound.
I also have them in my Weber 5E7 Bandmaster with 3 original Jensen P10Q's. And they don't break the bank.
