Excluding the Gibson, Fender, and PRS brands….what is your favorite guitar BRAND or MODEL?
    And WHY?

I'll start it with Reverend Guitars. I think they make unique designs with solid playability.

I was curious as I had another thread on different AMP brands...

I've got a 1962 Guild Capri. Lovely holobody - 9.5 fingerboard radius slim neck. She's my project guitar, needs some small cracks fixed and a set of new pickups but plays acoustically very nicely.

-Nik Huber, especially the Krautster II. That thing is jammin.
-Ibanez makes some pretty sweet guitars.
    -I like Reverend as well.

Ernie Ball Albert Lee. I’ve actually never played a bad Ernie Ball Music Man guitar or bass. They have always had things dialed in really well. Superb build quality and very high quality components.

There are some good ones these days. Like @burton56 I've had a couple Krautsters and they were excellent. Used Thorns are exceptional and I really like my Frank Brothers Arcade. I prefer builders who blend traditional influences with a new vision to create their brand.

Koll guitars suit me well right now. Unique designs and they feel and sound great.

I’m surprised PRS is now linked with the big 2. Without those I’d have a Fano left.

Gretsch. If not for my PRS I'd have a much more expensive model!

Why? Because they have awesome playability and create such awesome sounds.

My Taylor T5z is the best playing guitar I’ve played in many years. Taylor necks and fretwork are as good as any out there.

Love my Albert Lee HH. The wax/gun oil finish on the neck feels incredible in your hand, my favorite neck finish.
That said, the tiny narrow neck is just too small for my hands; there are certain chord forms I can't play on it.
Still like the guitar too much to let it go.

Barring the big three, I'd have to go with boutique myself.
    McNaught for a set-neck, Tyler for a bolt-on.
    Incredible guitars, both of them.

My six Warmoth guitars (4 Strats, two teles) are kind of all I want to play. Sometimes my Hubers, rarely my Heritages and Gibsons.

In forty plus years I've had pretty much everything - especially exploring the odd stuff like Burns and TruTone. I've got over 30 now. If the house was on fire, the only one I'd grab is my 12 year old Eastman AR810 archtop. It sounds majestic. I seldom plug it in.
But, right next to my recliner is my recent Dean Caddy. It's so great bone stock, I've never modded it. But I could get another one with no problem, so I'd leave it behind.
