I'll take credit for this one. About a year ago I had a discussion with one of the Emi guys and was asking if there was any contractual reason they couldn't do an alnico hemp cone speaker like a Tone Tubby but at a better price point. I guess they listened. I just acquired a Scumnico from jmesser that I'm very happy with though, so although I may try the Canis Major sometime, my needs are currently filled. I REALLY like the Scum. Thanks Jim and jmesser!

How much difference is there from the Cannabis Rex, wonder if it would fit in a Blues Junior!

I'd love a hemp coned speaker with a neo mag voiced like alnico!

cone cry...really? what amp are you using?

this is a first for me...my bud has about 10 Scumbacks that he uses with Komet 60 and CS Orange retro classic heads....and I use em in my Fargen DC combo and my 53 year old ears don't hear anything resembling ghosting/comb filtering/conecry...

Is not the amps...is the way I play...I would probably need to use 4 of them for me not to have cone cry.

You may want to try the x series for the cone cry issues.

Galo is just a freak of picking nature. LOL While I've never heard him do it, he says he has on my buddy's 65 watt H75 and H55 (GFM chime in here whenever) speakers. Of course, the XH75, with 80 oz of magnet, well, that would be a lot tougher for him to do it to...then again...he's a freak of picking nature, so who knows?

The rest of us "normal" guitar players don't seem to have any issues. (Just messing with you Galo! How the heck are you, anyway?) :D

I'm doing good man...just a little bombed out...too many concert cancellation last week because of the economy and scheduling problems...but I'll survive.

Anyway, I know you are just messing around...keep up the good work.

I just got word from Eminence that the speaker kicks butt...I got my order in.

Alnico magnet. a tighter sound, more focused and it has a natural compression at higher volumes compared to the C-Rex. They both sound great...

I haven't heard this guy yet, but Em. makes some very good speakers and I don't think they've gotten enough attention. I use there Swamp Thang in our Aether cabinet as standard equipment, and really love the unique upper mids they throw out, and I also really like the George Lynch sig speaker, high power and really smooth similar (although less complex) to my favorite driver the Fane Axiom. I look forward to checking these out to.
