the madness has begun!
800$ for a gold horseyman? Haven't they been going for way higher than that on eBay already for years prior to Bill's recent announcement?
OP, that's what people have been asking for gold horsey Klons for a while now.
i figured on the CL market it was a little high... i bet people will be getting way more on ebay....
believe it or not...that's cheap for a gold horsey.
cheap! im so jealous, my friend had one built for him just recently, he was gonna get one done at the same time for me (obviously, id have to pay him), but i said... "well, i could always get one later". DOH.
Honestly could you tell by listening to a player whether its live, a clip or right in front of you if the klon is part of the equation? Nuff said!
Yeah, and that's true about most of the stuff we salivate over on this board!
A gold one recently sold on the bay for over 1k.....before the news.
The point of a pedal like the Klon is that it becomes part of your sound. It's not like stepping on a Fuzz Face and having the pedal dominate your tone.
The Klon is amazing because it doesn't automatically draw attention to itself when it's in use. Still, when you turn it on or off you hear quite a difference.
That's the beauty of the pedal.
I will continue to use mine.
Is the pedal discounted forever or just temp like they were saying before...
I've got both. Not even.
So is there an acceptable alternative? Does the Tim/Timmy get you in the ballpark or do they alter your tone more than the Klon?
Great pieces, the Tim & Timmy...but they are not comparable to a Klon. Not saying one is better than the other, just that if you're looking for a Klon Klone, I can tell you the Tim/Timmy is not it. As for altering tone, the Klon will do that immediately once it enters the chain, which is why many put it in a loop. But...just as many (I'm guessing here) like the tonal change and keep it in the chain.
Klon in a smaller box should make folks happy again..
I'll probably pick up a Klon 2 at some point.
love my horsie, but would love a pony instead for more board real estate.....
