I don't know anything about the seller but if this is accurate it's a rare bird indeed.

Worked at a store around that time that sold Alembic. I borrowed a six string for a gig one night looking to try something different. At the time I was using a metal panel Super Lead and I absolutely went crazy trying to get dirt out of those low impedance pickups. It might as well have been an acoustic electric.

It was an incredibly beautiful and well built guitar, though. IIRC, the price was about equal to the cost of three new Les Pauls, so I passed. One of the many, that got away...

Very similar to the guitar that Carlos Alomar played throughout his time with David Bowie. Series 1 body with the 6-in-line headstock. Beyond cool.

Big fan of these. Some serious hippie sandwich goodness there. I like the old fugly pick up covers too.

NICE post Jon!
SEVENTEEN minutes left and no one wants it for $6500?

that seller has a LOT of rare and unique guitars, but some seem not as rare as stated or maybe prototypes that ended up more being made of so not really a one off as suggested?
Probably a normal price for the Alembic??

but a lot of his other prices seem way too high in this economy.

I like the Shamray a lot, but have def seen others, one with a amazing quilt top, that went for around $3500 a while back.
