Very similar gain structure I think.
Raw British distortion, insane amount of gain and low end with that refined upper mids and top end in the treble.
Ran it through a clean USA Peavey Classic 30 with a UK '75 and my '78 JMP 2203 set clean through a vintage cab with 4 UK '75's also.
Just a great sounding and feeling pedal!

I recently picked up one of these as well. Interesting as a forerunner of more current high gain designs. The only issue is, during the last part of the gain sweep, the pedal starts to squeal. it's a super high gain unit, but is that normal? In other words I can only turn the gain up to about 85% before self-oscillation starts to occur. no problem except the perfect setting for endless sustain would be about 9/10ths of the way up. a bad capacitor or an over the top design?
