I had been looking for something to push my Suhr SL67 just a bit further into 80's territory than the series of good tubescreamers I've had.

I also use a Rangemaster and a Speakeasy (Echoplex Pre) for this purpose.

I happened to come across the Devil Drive, and it seems to be exactly what I was looking for. Burgs' video of using it as a boost through an overdriven Laney sealed-the-deal.

You get a vintage (Boss OD-1, mid hump) style, and a modern (more gain, less mids) style at the flip of a toggle. Both options work very well for their intended purposes.

Great pedal. In vintage mode it just adds that slight bit of punch that exceeds a TS without being instant "chug metal".
