yeah, i don't do reverb very much, and this pedal is amazing to me. it's one of the few i don't see leaving at home very often.

I picked one up last November, its easily the best reverb pedal I've ever owned. I want to pick up an eterna now. Its a very organic sounding reverb without the high metallic sounds the boss rv-5 has.

Yes I had an RV-5 and it was decent but I was looking for a longer trail and I definitely have it now. Mr Black did well

I wasn't on my main amp, just my little house practice amp. Sounded great, I will let you know after tomorrow night at stage volume if I noticed any hiss.

I would like to have this pedal but this would be overkill as I've got a Flint and will never play clean-ambient stuff. Sounds so good, but no use for it. I have to resist...

Boss RV-5 doesn't have a metallic sound. Are you referring to the modulation setting with the 5th pitch shimmer?

Correction: Eterna does straight amazing reverb aswell as octave up shimmer. Turn down the Shimmer dial on the Eterna and you get a similar lush modulated reverb as per the Supermoon - that's how I use it. The Supermoon just gives you control over how much modulation, while the modulation on the Eterna is set in stone, replacing it with a Shimmer control... but it's perfectly sweet. It's personal opinion which one is more versatile. I think the Eterna has a longer decay too but I may be wrong - it can do 100% wet as per the chromed Supermoon.

I've spent some time trying to emulate my favourite Eterna setting (Mix and Decay at 11:00, Shimmer off) on the BigSky - can get pretty close. If you guys have a BigSky and want to hear an approximation of the Eterna then let me know, I'll post the BigSky settings for it - Hall mode with no pre-delay and a decent amount of modulation is basically it.

Also my Eterna doesn't hiss!

Could you demo this?

I've never done demos. I tried some youtube clips before but the sound qual was overcompressed and crap. My Soundcloud account won't let me upload tracks and I haven't figured out how to record anything decent with my Boss Micro BR yet. Excuses, excuses, basically - i'm a lazy ditz :) (at home anyway, i turn the work ethic on in the studio hehe)

GY!BE reign, by the way : ))
