I’m pleased to welcome you to the the first annual, 2012New York Guitar Show & Exposition (NYGS&E). The New York Guitar Show & Exposition will be held at the Cure of Ars Church, 2323 Merrick Ave. in Merrick, NY will be the largest NY Metro area guitar show in two decades!

As an exhibitor at major northeastern fishing, boating, and outdoor expos as well as being a seminar sponsor/producer for the NY National Boat Show for the last 15 years, Rich Johnson now brings over 17-years experience to create the 2012 New York Guitar Show & Expo.

WHY EXHIBIT AT THE NEW YORK GUITAR SHOW & EXPOSITION?
· Opportunity to introduce new products and lines to a targeted marketplace starved for this kind of a guitar show.
· Thousands of music lovers, instrument collectors and players from throughout metro-NYC and the entire tri-state region (CT, NJ and NY)—all looking to see and visit the newest guitar show on the East Coast and waiting to do business directly with YOU!
· Highest per capita income area in the United States
· Over 35 exhibit booths
· Easily accessible by car, train and public transportation including bus lines. Centrally located near the Long Island Railroad, and only a 10-minute walk from the Merrick, Long island station.
· Situated near all major highways & parkways as well as to draw from the entire tri state area of NY, NJ & CT.
· We’re encouraging a professional look & feel, too. A “flea market” look & atmosphere will not be present at this event--having a flea market atmosphere creates a flea market economy.

We’re working on a few major music and/or vintage guitar industry attractions to make this event one for entire family to enjoy, as will anyone looking for new, used or vintage gear. Look for future press releases here

We are also presently selecting sponsors for the event with programs designed to give each sponsor unique opportunities to make direct outreach to a substantial portion of guitar and music industry consumers, en masse or one on one. Copies of our available sponsorship package(s) will soon be sent for your review as well. We look forward to hearing from you shortly thereafter to discuss your company’s participation as a sponsor of theNew York Guitar Show & Exposition.

Again, WELCOME to what promises to be a uniquely profitable experience for all!

Sincerely,
Rich Johnson
Show Founder

The leading guitar publications signs on to support largest guitar show in NYC Metro area in more than two decades
Guitar World, the world’s best-known guitar magazine, has agreed to become a major media sponsor of the 2012 New York Guitar Show and Exposition, which will be held April 28-29 in Merrick, NY.

“The support of Guitar World is greatly appreciated and clearly illustrates how important this event will be for the industry,” said show founder Rich Johnson. “We are proud to have them as a media sponsor and expect the show to have a long relationship with the magazine.”

Both the print and digital editions of Guitar World are must-reads for those who love guitar playing. The magazine has a fiercely loyal readership, which chooses the magazine over its competitors time and again.

“We recognize the potential in this event and are happy to support it,” said Greg Di Benedetto, Publisher of Guitar World. “The NYC Metro area is home to tens of thousands of people who live and breathe guitar playing, whether it is their passion or profession. It is a natural fit for Guitar World.”

The show is expected to see thousands of attendees from New York City, Long Island, Connecticut and New Jersey.

“With such an incredible demographic in this area, it is surprising no major guitar shows have been held in such a long time,” said Johnson. “The 2012 New York Guitar Show and Exposition changes all that in April.”

Les Paul Foundation To Bring Les Paul Display To
2012 New York Guitar Show & Exposition
The not for profit foundation honoring one of America’s greatest musical & technological achievers in music signs on to bring a Les Paul Display to support largest guitar show in NYC Metro area in more than two decades
The Les Paul Foundation honoring and remembering the life, spirit and legacy of Les Paul has agreed to bring a Les Paul display to the 2012 New York Guitar Show and Exposition, which will be held April 28-29 in Merrick, NY.

“Being a huge admirer of Les Paul, collecting and playing his masterpieces for decades and having met him several times, now to have a true display of Les Paul’s personal items in our guitar expo is just mind blowing!” said show founder Rich Johnson. The support of the Les Paul Foundation and what it means to our event…I just cannot put into words, suffice it to say I cannot thank them enough!

“We recognize the potential, but more importantly the importance in this event to the NY Metro region and are happy to support it,” said Michael K. Braunstein, Executive Director of the Les Paul Foundation. Les was a huge influence in this NY Metro region and lived the last few decades in the tri-state area so we feel it important to help this show get off the ground.”

We picked up some new exhibitors this past 10 days and booths are selling quickly now. Antique Electrical Supplies of Tempe, AZ, yes I said Arizona, also known as Tubes & More is doing our Guitar Expo. They are also announcing the release of a new 2012 Mini-Catalog. This new release contains product information for our new products, as well as highlights some of our most popular items.

Also signed on is Licea Guitars of Long Island City in Queens, NY. They feature Handcrafted bamboo electric guitars, all beautifully sculpted and versatile unique one-piece design made of environmentally friendly bamboo. Great for any guitar player and Made in the USA. Murphy's Music in Melville, LI signed on and claimes uke's are out selling guitars 8:1 so he will have a full line of ukuleles, guitars and a wide assortment of items for sale.

Next up is Tonemaster hand crafted pickups & restoration of Long Island. For over 30 years they have been creating and restoring guitar electronics and pickups for their own collection as well as expertly performing these services for local musicians, retailers and luthiers with exceptional results. Also signed on today is Pigtronix Pedals where they inspired to design and manufacture futuristic analog effects. Like the musicians who use them, each one of their pedals is a unique and original creation.

Inquiries for exhibit space are coming from as far away as Florida now and even from the private sector as Joe Public with a stash of guitars from the 50's or 60's wants to get a booth to sell his stash.

These exhibitors by signing early and being part of our first show have guaranteed themselves no price increase in booth space should that need arise in 2013. They took the leap of faith in believing that my 17 years experience in the fishing and boating show world is going to pay off for a sorely needed Guitar show in the NY Metro region. Please...you too can be part of this exciting new and much needed project! Thank you guys!

I started this out as a Vintage Guitar show & expo...shocked at the lack of support and the negativity about why it will never work from the vintage dealers in and around the Long Island and NY Metro area which BTW covers all of NJ & CT...Give me a break! The first five booths were sold to custom builders!

It has now turned into a guitar show for everybody (maybe a good thing?) as several LARGE Long Island and NJ guitar stores will be on hand selling new and used guitars, amps and equipment...custom acoustic and electric builders will be on site, one of which is actually bringing their workshop to build guitars at the expo!

Two or three shops that deal in VINTAGE gear will be there, my vintage 50's LP's will be on display, but I REALLY would like to round out the show with two to three more vintage dealers...come on WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?? I know you read these forums and troll CL for gear...get involved!!

THIS IS NOT A FLEA MARKET...this is not card tables bumped together to create a flea market environment. This is a quality show with pipe, drape, tables, chairs, exhibitor passes & ELECTRIC all included in the low price of a booth for two days and this is lasting quality guitar show and exposition!.

No Matter what...this region of the country is stil the #1 per capita earning region in the country!!
