I'm sure this question has been asked 1,000 time, but it's tough to do a search on OCD...

Which version OCD is preferred, and why?

You're gonna get a plethora of answers, it might help if you described your needs, and gear.

If I were to go looking for one..which I might be..I wouldn't worry about it.
Their all good. And each do something better than the other one.

I've tried 1, 2 and 4, and 4 is the best to my ears and taste. Very amp like, with great bite and dynamics.

I love my Version 2...fantastic dynamics, great drive all around. Most amplike pedal I've ever played.

I don't think there is a best version. They each have different things going for them that appeal to different people. I have v1 and v3 at home and play regularly on a friends v2. I haven't tried v4 yet but from the demos It sounds pretty good.

I've only ever tried v4, and see no need to search further. I'm incredibly happy with it. If I ran across another version, I might check it out, but I don't feel a need to search more through the versions as I like it so much already.

I have V2 & V4 - I use the V4. Its sound is smoother. For the harsh boost I add the gt 500 boost side with the hi & low 3/4 and the mid at 9:00. The OCD is the best OD pedal I've ever heard. I don't even use the OD side of the gt 500 (as good as it sounds) cause the OCD V4 sounds better. The OD side of th GT500 sounds almost identicle to the V2 in HP with 18 volts.

+1. V4 is only one I have tried and probably the only one I will try unless for some reason a friend of mine gets a previous version and brings it to a jam. I love it.

I tried (owned) the original V1 and sold it because of the "scoop." (got lost in the mix a bit to my ears) Didn't get a chance to try V2 or V3, but purchased V4 a few months ago on a whim. LOVE it. GREAT pedal. This one is NOT going anywhere.

    If you like/need more mids get a v3 or a v4.

    I have both.

I think the v4 is slighter harsher than the v3 ... if I had to choose I would keep the v3 however the v4 seems similar if the tone knob is brought down a little more in comparison with the v3.

I've played all four, and owned V1.2 and V1.4. I sold my V1.2 (which I dearly loved) to get V1.4. I wish I still owned both. IMO, 1.2 is better with hums, 1.4 better with single coils. Both are great. But I can honestly see having both on my board EXCEPT that I just got the latest version (Red) GT500. If not for that, I've be looking to replace my V1.2 The newest version of the GT500 is like an OCD on steroids plus a Fatboost 2 in one box IMHO.

V1.2 is louder, punchier and less mids than V1.4 which is smoother and has more mids. Both KILLER pedals.
