Were any of Jimi Hendrix's contemporaries using an octave fuzz? How soon did the effect become available? EHX is marketing their new Octrix as the quintessential 60s sound, complete with Rick Griffin-style lettering. But was it really that common an effect?

I'm sure roger Mayer sold octave pedals to other guitar players. Lord knows he still does today bc of the jimi connection.
