Buy the live Scott Henderson cd!!!! ;)

  5. i have it. I feel i wasted my money on it. My least favorite henderson cd.... EVER. as ed degenaro aptly put it, "he wants to be beck too much." most over use of a trem bar i've ever heard since the vai and satch days. I liked the tunes though.

That is awesome news. Greg is another great player and I am happy he digs the stuff!!! Great amp indeed. Perhaps he could record a clip or two.

I don't think Al's playing is cheesy, but I don't think anyone has to post clips to express an opinion. :(

  10. I can understand the logic behind posting clips when you knock somebody's playing. I'll try to post some clips today.

I'm not saying that I'm smoking Al, but I'll have to agree with the guy that thinks his playing is cheesy. In my opinion, very much so. It's called freedom of speech.
I don't see why you should have to smoke him in order to be able to disapprove on his style......?

  12. I guess it's just a matter of respect. I don't really play that kind of style, so I probably won't be able to play specific to that style, but I do my own thing decently. Anyhow, The reason I found the clips cheesy is not because I think I'm the stereotypical "shred-knocking blues playing hack". Or the jazz -hole as ed degenaro puts it. I just think that I feel i've heard that playing a million times before and it just bores me. I'd rather listen to someone with a little more creativity. personally. anyhow, I'll post some clips and then maybe get some more responses. :dude keep rockin'

Hey John, this is the same guy(same screenname) that started the thread(about Suhr and Tyler) that ended up going haywire with things about your wife and such over on Hugeracks. It was the same scinario, he was being way overly critical and insulting and ended up having guys challenging him to post clips. Some were calling to shun him. When he did they were at the wrong sample rate and were hystarical. After he got the thing fixed it was basically somewhat sloppy attempts at Ed D. stuff. Now mind you, he is only 16 or 17 yrs. old, so that is pretty good for that age, but his over opinionated and insulting stabs are pretty jive.
I am dissapointed in Ed D. if he was publicly slagging Scott. I have known Scott since the Ft. Lauderdale days and we hang when he is in Det. He plays for the sake of playing and being creative. He has honned the trem bar thing into his own sound. He makes crap money and humps his own gear so he can do what he wants in his music. If someone can't find "any" value in Scott's live CD there is something wrong(and it's not with Scott). diminishedlogic needs to get over himself, "he ain't all that".

    Peace,
    Duffy

Yes, the boost was engaged for that clip. It was the standard OD-100, not the SE. It had the SH mod too on the clean channel.

Cool. Thanks for the info. Really cool aggressive tone and playing.

  19. look friend. no disrespect. why would you care if another person doesn't need to agree with you to have a valid point. and I seriously think you need to get off my back about dissing my clips. I honestly think your clips pretty much speak for the kind of player that you are, and you shouldn't be insulting someone who puts up clips that are different. I could easily tear down your style on your alleged jazz fusion tunes, but it would be pointless and hijack the thread.

thanks for all teh positive comments, and no disrespect to al, he's definatly got talent and skill. just not my kind of music.

btw great sounding clip!!!! also here is the link http://www.soundclick.com/bands/wri...bandid=342661&bandnamesave=returntowhateverus
I'll post new soundclips of me playing through some standards soon.

Drum track = cheesy (taken from porn film)
Strange shaped guitar = cheesy (taken from Spinal Tap)
    Playing = awesome

...and I'm not a huge fan of '80s music.
