Looking for a good overdrive for country, Rig is a Suhr Telle through a Z Maz 38. I want something open and not too distorted. Any suggestions?

Keeley Blues Driver (BD-2)... I use one with my tele (loaded with ToneRiders Vintage Plus). Really transparent overdrive that really brings the tele to life. Plus the phat boost really allows that low end to shine with the quacky highs.

i say a Timmy would work well.... it can be gritty if you gain it out, but like you want to use it... (open and just a little crunch) should work great.

edit..... i also really think that the Tim/Timmy would be great with your Tele and Maz 38. It sounds great with my Anderson Tele and King Royale..... The eq is magic in that box with EL84's I believe.

I dig the Xotic BB Pre-Amp. Very Transparent and 3D...

Another Timmy vote...works very nicely in my setup.

Have tried a Boss BD-2 Blues Driver in the past and liked it also.

MI Audio Blues Boy Deluxe. I use it with a Tele, Altough I don't play country, I can see where this would fit in. It's has some compression and a nice clear overdrive when dialed in right.

Has 4 small knobs: Bright, Mids, Tone and Character
    2 Big knobs: Volume, Gain

    VERY VERSATILE!!

Timmy and Telenordia TA-100...those are my faves. Add a Klon for more volume or a BJFE Compressor, and they're even better.

I have a timmy and my buddy has a Keely BD-2 and I much prefer the Timmy. They are both gritty in the good way but the BD-2 has an unnatural decay that drives me nuts and it also cuts bass. The Timmy decays smoothly back to clean with no annoying transistorized artifacts and the EQ is very useful.

If I didn't have the timmy my second choice would be the barber silver LTD.
