I picked up a guitar with Amalafitano P90's. Beautiful sound, clarity and bite. I play mainly funk, motown and classic rock. However, I would like to consider a pedal that adds a new level of texture to the nature of P90's. Any recommendations? Thanks

i use lollar 50s wound p90s. i really like most any germanium fuzz on the neck pickup. i'm a huge fan of a good fuzzface or tonebender mkIII with p90s. sorry can't recommend any specifics, but start checking out companies who make MKIIIs and FF.

My Rook and OCD work well with the Lollar P90s I have in one of my guitars. I don't really think there are "P90 specific" dirt pedals.

I think P90's and fuzz are a great match. A good Fuzz Face (many to choose from) might be a good idea, Basic Audio Scarab Deluxe for a wide range of Tone Bender sounds and a Paul Trombetta Design Mini Bone for almost everything - low gain od all the way to fuzz mayhem; all with unsurpassed cleanup with the guitar's volume pot.

Hard to recommend specifically without a better understanding of your amp, other pedals, song selection, and technique, but off-hand...

Caroline Guitar Company's Wave Cannon

In fact anything by them. Very tasty pedals. Their Icarus Boost is another great one.

Lumpy's Tone Shop Lemon Drop - use it with my Casino and an AC30, and it's amazing and cuts through the mix beautifully.

Just yesterday I ran my P90 goldtop through an SD tweak fuzz into an AC30 and was literaly flabergasted at how great it sounded. I A/Bd it with various drives and the fuzz was simply sublime. There's something about P90s that sits perfectly with fuzz IMHO.

I feel P-90's work with a larger variety of pedals than any other type of pickup. For me at least, P-90's are best!
